Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you choose a monitoring service.

Monitoring should be understood clearly: what each installed service can include, what it does not replace, and how BIA supports the agreed monitoring scope over time.

What does BIA Monitoring Solutions do?

BIA provides professionally installed, connected monitoring for critical equipment. Generator Monitoring is the flagship service, and Chiller Monitoring is available for installation-specific critical cooling requirements.

What does BIA Generator Monitoring do?

BIA provides remote visibility into supported standby generator conditions through the Customer Portal. Depending on the commissioned installation, this can include utility power, generator state, battery voltage, connection status, recent activity, and event history.

How do I get started?

Request a monitoring assessment. BIA will review the equipment, site, connectivity, installation scope, and commissioning requirements before preparing a customer-specific quotation.

How will monitoring be priced?

Pricing is quote-based and depends on site review, hardware, installation and setup scope, monitoring requirements, and approved service terms. BIA does not offer instant checkout or a fixed online entry price.

Does BIA guarantee my generator will start?

No. BIA provides monitoring visibility. It does not guarantee generator performance, fuel availability, utility restoration, notification delivery, or prevention of failure. Monitoring does not replace maintenance, electrical inspection, fuel management, or emergency procedures.

What happens if the Internet goes down?

The device requires connectivity to communicate with the BIA platform. Where supported by the installed configuration, events may be retained locally and transmitted after communication is restored.

Can BIA review a business or critical-use site?

Yes. Business Monitoring is designed for businesses and facilities where backup power matters to operations. The professional site review confirms the monitoring and installation scope for your generator and property.

What can BIA Chiller Monitoring include?

Depending on the approved system design, it may include independent sensing of selected operating conditions, connected monitoring hardware, historical monitoring and event records, configured alerts for validated conditions, professional commissioning, and ongoing local support.

Does Chiller Monitoring replace HVAC maintenance or chiller controls?

No. It does not replace chiller controls, manufacturer protections, preventative maintenance, mechanical service, or qualified HVAC/chiller technicians, and it does not guarantee uptime or prevention of equipment failure.

Are email notifications included?

Email notification workflows are not a standard package inclusion. Where appropriate, they may be separately scoped and require separate technical and commercial approval.

Can BIA discuss multiple sites or enterprise needs?

Yes. Enterprise and Multi-Site requirements are custom quoted and separately scoped. They are not standard inclusions in Essential or Business Monitoring.

Is the system self-installed?

No. BIA monitoring solutions are professionally installed and commissioned by BIA or through a professionally coordinated installation. Site review is required before final scope and pricing are confirmed.

Are SMS, WhatsApp, push notifications, AI, or predictive maintenance available?

No. SMS and WhatsApp alerts are not part of the current direction. Push notifications, AI features, predictive maintenance, automated reports, and app onboarding are not current commercial promises.

Is BIA ISO certified?

No. BIA does not claim ISO certification. BIA is building its operating processes, documentation, and quality controls with ISO-aligned practices in mind while working toward future certification readiness.

How is final pricing determined?

Pricing is provided after a site review and depends on the equipment, location, connectivity, wiring distance, number of users, monitoring requirements, and commissioning scope.
